Through establishing three-year strategic partnerships, we can support those organisations that are immersed
in their specialist fields on a day-to-day basis. We are also better able to understand the diverse needs of our
communities.
During the year, the Trust collaborated with WEL Energy Trust and DV Bryant Trust, to commission a
feasibility study into the possibility of establishing a food rescue service in Hamilton. Essentially, a food
rescue service involves ‘rescuing’ food from retailers that is no longer good enough to sell, but plenty good
enough to eat. The food is then distributed among community organisations that work with people in need.
This work will be expanded on in the coming year.
