WHAT THIS TELLS US
This is a measure of how much longer it takes
to get around the city in a motor vehicle during
peak trafc. We carry out surveys where travel
speed is measured on fve key routes in the city
during March and November each year. We are
aiming to maintain current travel tmes over
the next 10 years. We won’t be able to build
our way out of congeston, so meetng this
target is going to rely on people changing their
travel behaviours and commuters choosing
alternatves to single occupancy car trips.

WHAT THIS TELLS US
Parking in the CbD needs to be managed
to achieve a good balance, so there is a
reasonable chance of fnding a park but
there are not too many empty parks. The two
main infuences the Council has with parking
management are tme limits and cost. We will
contnue to monitor and adjust our parking
management strategy to achieve a good
balance. We will also contnue to invest in
technology that is more customer friendly and
helps us beter manage our parking stock.
